Plastic Bags account for the death of thousands of sea and land animals each year. Although, recycling bins have been placed outside major retailers, plastic bag recycling is very slim. This harmful item end up in landfills and our waters polluting our planet. Billions of these bags are produced annually. Imagine the amount of waste and production in 10 years.

The death of mammals is not the only effect of plastic bags. Millions of oil barrels are used every year in the US alone to produce these bags. This abusive production needs to end.

Eliminating the use of plastic bags is one thing we can ALL do. It’s one simple way to join in the force to save our planet. Going Green is not a “new fad”. It is a necessity. We are already feeling the effects of global warming. We must all take responsibility and do our part.

The economy is not getting any better. This means most people are still limiting their spending any way they can. Many are thinking about alternate sources of energy to use at their residence to save money on a long-term basis. Residential solar panels are a good choice for saving money and this source of energy does no harm to the environment.

It is a common belief that the only way to have green renewable energy is to purchase a system through an alternative energy company and have it professionally installed in your home. This is out of reach for most people, as they cannot afford it. What they do not know is they can build their own solar panels for a reasonable cost at home.

It should come as no surprise to anyone that it is time to seek alternative fuel. Oil, which is derived from fossil fuels, is diminishing and the largest reserves are in the hands of foreign governments. The best replacement is something that is naturally occurring and wind fits that description. You may not know this but it is possible for you to build your own wind generator.

Wind power has the potential of saving you hundreds if not thousands of dollars on your electric bill. This is not new information; wind power has been used to some degree for hundreds of years. From wind driven ships with massive sails to quaint little windmills for grinding grain, wind power was and is a viable option.

Since winter is the off-season the boat owners have to make up their mind as to how to store their boats. Apart from proper storage of your boat, you will also have to correctly winterize your boat.

If the places where you live have a climate with frigid winters then you must keep your boat away from water for a number of months every year. You have to decide whether to store your craft indoors, or to brave the factors and pack it outside.

Clearly if you use an outboard motor with your boat, you can store the motor indoors and the boat itself outdoors. This might be a fairly simple solution. However, if you are thinking about outdoor boat storage and your craft has an inboard engine, there are additional factors to consider with your decision.

How Does Solar Energy Work

by Carl Johnson

Frequent topics discussed at the office water cooler these days are whether energy prices will ever go back down and how does solar power work? A major worry of changing to solar is the expense of purchasing and installing the materials. But check out the ever increasing number of state and federal grants available to help with the purchase to help fund the project. Setting aside the initial cost factor, using solar power in the home is an attractive option.

The concept of solar power is the exact same in both residential and commercial uses with the scale of the application being the only difference. It is obvious that a factory or warehouse will require substantially a larger amount of electricity and therefore a more complicated and costly application.
