We are concerned today about the garbage and trash we are filling our dumps and landfills with and the fact that much of that trash will still be there in hundreds of years. Unless you are involved in the construction industry, you likely have never heard of the ultimate green lumber. Decks and deck furniture are typical uses of this product, which any environmentally conscious man or women will support wholeheartedly. The ultimate green lumber is also know by the following names: envirowood, plastic lumber, poly-wood, permo-wood, and eco-lumber. This revolutionary material that has transformed the patio furniture industry is both economically viable and environmentally friendly.

The product may look like regular lumber in shape, but it is constructed from plastic containers, including recycled milk jugs. The similarity to wood goes further, in that the ultimate green lumber may be cut, sawed and drilled in a similar way – it even has the same texture. Wherever you are used to finding lumber, particularly out-of-doors, you now see this material: in playground equipment, benches and tables in public spots, and naturally, decks and patio furniture. The making of plastic lumber is a great avenue of use for the growing mountain of recycled plastic waste. From merely 234 million pounds several years ago, the amount of plastic materials being recycled has increased to 1.5 billion pounds.

Handling Used Computers

Not so many years back, the computer was not the kind of tool people have used that often in their daily routine. I remember when I was in the computer club in my secondary school, our computers used to boot up using floppy disks. To buy a personal computer had always been the last thing in our minds as it was so expensive. Fast track to this day and you can see that almost every household has computers of their own.

Due to rapid development in these computer-related technologies, the best computer today can become somehow outdated in a matter of weeks. Getting rid of the old ones has become a problem for most people. Furthermore, people tend not to buy used computers since they know they can get new ones at a comparable price. For this simple reason, it is even harder to cash in on your old computers.

Learn How To Recycle At Home

One of the many things brought up in an environment-conscious, do-it-yourself age is how to recycle at home. Pollution and Global Warming are serious issues today, and taking measures against them can never be thought about too much. This is where recycling comes in. A great deal can be done to conserve energy and make for the cleaner and safer environment if less trash is accumulated and thrown away. If waste material dumped in dumps and taken to incineration areas could be cut in half, it’ll go a long way to make a cleaner Earth. And how much better if recycling is started now, and individuals learn to recycle in your house?
