Franco Luccioli (Chair, Fellowships Sub-Committee)

Franco is an electrical engineer who recently retired from ENEL.  After graduating in 1959 he worked as production engineer in SADE an Italian Electricity Company.   In 1963 he joined the Italian Electricity Agency (ENEL) as head of their thermoelectric power plant in Ravenna, becoming head of thermoelectric generation for Tuscany and Emilia Romagna regions in 1978.  In 1984 he was appointed Director of the ENEL-National Geothermal Unit in Pisa. From 1992 until he retired in 1998 he was co-ordinator for ENEL of their geothermal activity abroad (China, Philippines, USA, Indonesia, Turkey, Costa Rica etc.).  He was a Co-Secretary of the Organising Committee of the Word Geothermal Congress 1995, held in Florence, Italy, for which ENEL was main sponsor. He was Chairman of the Fellowship Subcommittee for the World Geothermal Congress 2000, held in Japan.  He was a member of the Board of Director of the International Geothermal Association during the period 1998-2001, and Chairman of the Finance Subcommittee of the IGA in the period 1995-98.  He has presented and published numerous scientific and technical papers.
