For one to understand the notion of renewable energy, one must take into consideration the forms of energy we have in the present society. At present, energy comes from sources such as electricity, coal, and fossil fuel”a substance which contains carbon. Said elements are present on earth; yet, they are not considered renewable resources and are scarce. Moreover, the use of electric power somehow endangers the environment since electricity is created from the burning of coal and other substances containing carbon.

Why is the use of the said elements dangerous to our environment?

They are harmful for the primary reason that they discharge lethal amounts of carbon dioxide levels into the atmosphere. Consequently, it depletes the ozone layer and produces negative effects that may be permanent. In addition, illnesses such as bronchitis, asthma, and other respiratory diseases are brought by these harmful elements. Moreover, said elements are not always present in the earths surface. Because of this supply problem, along with continues demand, the prices of coal and fossil fuel prices are exponentially increasing.

The earth has another form of energy”renewable energy”that the earth always have. Comparing it to the substances containing carbon, it is present in abundance and can be replaced. Solar power, wind and water energy are examples of sources for this kind of energy. The examples mentioned are non-hazardous and earth-friendly. Once brought together with modern technology, the said natural resources are less destructive and less harmful to the environment. Also, said energy is better in terms of economy and practicality.

The use of renewable energy has more advantages than disadvantages. Listed below are some of them:

1. Vast supply ” the sun will not stop shining, the wind will not stop blowing, and the water will not stop flowing. This goes to prove that these elements are always in existence on earth. Actually, these are the exact elements that compose the earth itself.

2. Cost effectiveness ” despite the unavailability of some renewable energy, those which are present are of so much value in terms of minimizing costs. Because renewable energy is always in abundance, it is least likely that there will be an increase in the production costs. Financial incentives await those who use both wind and solar power.

3. Environmental health ” both living and non-living things are secured from pollutants with the use of renewable energy than that of the coal or fossil fuel. It is safer with the former and is a lot better for the earths subsistence. It is also ozone-friendly and thus, everyone and everything on the earths surface are free from danger.

In addition to the above mentioned benefits, there are a lot more that are not as popular; among these are less economic foreign exchanges, decreased foreign resources dependency, and the reduction of contamination. Also, renewable energy such as solar power is the best source for countries that do not have the necessary power and electricity. Build yourself a home wind or solar power generator. Do this by getting a step by step guide and reduce your electric bills. In having such, you can boost or enhance the value of your own home.
